In the past three decades, he has directed countless films and TV dramas which won many prestigious domestic and international awards such as the Silver Bear (Berlin), the Golden Panda (Montpellier), Golden Pre-Columbian Circle (Bogota), as well as China's highly-regarded Jinji, Baihua, Jinying and Huabiao awards, among others.
